With this workshop, students will be discovering new ways of seeing the world and themselves, by peeling, revealing deeper layers and in result, constructing a sculpture. This simple making and practicing hand-based skills will serve as an act of a quiet revolution.
This workshop asks for a donation to one of the COVID-19 solidarity and community support efforts in Malaysia #kitajagakita, or the community initiatives of their choice.

In these fragile times, we want to empower the social and artistic emancipatory impact of creative practice through adapting with the current realities. With the abundant time we now find collectively from home, we want to develop the conditions for a learning experience that focuses on ongoing creativity and artistic independence.
During the 1-week workshop, students will be experimenting by creating a sculpture. Their creative process will involve comprehending the phenomenon and translating their emotions and rationale into a tangible artefact. Their act of empathy, resistance and resilience will determine the form and order of their artwork.
